Jackie is an artist living in Alexandria, Virginia. She looks to her surroundings, knowledge of people and the world, and art history when making art. Jackie began painting during a time of change in her life, almost 30 years ago, and continued to explore art-making in various forms beyond painting. She is currently working with hot wax, paper, and textiles. Jackie is also revisiting some acrylic paintings. She has learned that art-making offers an opportunity to shift perspectives. During periods of change, which can sometimes be stressful, it is helpful and healing to spend time creating.
